Obituary For Edward "E.L." Lee Sams March 8, 1945 - July 11, 2014 Edward "E.L." Lee Sams, 69, of 215 Chestnut St. Eden, passed away Friday July 11, 2013 at Cone Hospital in Greensboro. A Graveside Service will be held on Monday July, 14 at 11:00 AM at Danview Cemetery. Mr. Sams was born in Rockingham County on March 8, 1945 to the late Roy and Ethel Strader Sams. E.L.Sams was a very faithful member, trustee, choir member and also the guitar player of the Victory by Grace Baptist Church.He is survived by his wife, Nancy Marie Sams of the home; daughter, Rhonda Hale and husband Denny of Eden; sons, Ricky Barley of Eden, Lee Sams and wife Gokce of Danville, VA, Kenneth Sams of Danville, VA; sister, Darlene Boyd Smith and husband Carl of Eden; brothers, Steve Sams of Eden and Tracy Sams of Conway, SC; granddaughters, Brooklyn Lee Barley and Kayla Nicole Barley of the home and Christy Marie Cook of Lakeland, FL and 3 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by brothers; Roy, Clayton, Doug, Dillard, Dale and Michael; grandson, Brandon Barley and also his grandmother, Rosie Knight. No formal visitation will be held the night before, but they wish to gather with their friends and family at the cemetery after the service.
