Obituary For Helen Beatrice Gilley Bennett March 4, 1924 - April 15, 2014 Helen Beatrice Gilley Bennett, 90, passed away at her home early Tuesday morning, April 15, 2014. A graveside service will be held at 11 AM on Thursday, April 17, at Overlook Cemetery. Mrs. Bennett was born March 4, 1924 in Rockingham County, the daughter of the late Jesse and Martha Gilley. She was a member of Eden Baptist Church and a retiree of Fieldcrest Mills. She is survived by her three daughters, Linda Land and husband, Thurman, of Stoneville, Ava Henning of Poplar Branch, NC, and Susie Boykin and husband, Thomas, of Chesapeake, VA; son, Kenny Bennett and wife, Kathleen, of Portsmouth, VA; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Edith Webb and husband, Sherman, of Sycamore, IL and Ruby Hodges of Eden. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Frank and Junior Gilley. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening, 6 - 8 PM, at Fair Funeral Home.
