Obituary For Iris Hodges Helms Ellis October 10, 1930 - December 30, 2013 Iris Hodges Helms Ellis, 83, formerly of Stoneville, passed away Monday, December 30, 2013, at Morehead Memorial Hospital in Eden. A graveside service will be held at 1 PM on Thursday, January 2, at Overlook Cemetery. Mrs. Ellis was born October 10, 1930 in Spray, NC. She was the daughter of the late Gum Hodges and Jennie Scott Hodges. Mrs. Ellis was a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church. She is survived by her sister, Peggy Church of Eden; nieces, Iris Jones Thompson and husband, Thomas of Stoneville, and Tina Church of Eden; nephews, Phillip Jones and wife, Pam, and Timothy Hodges, both of Eden; great-niece, Samantha; and great-nephews, Phillip, Jr. and Brandon. The family will receive friends on Thursday at Overlook Cemetery, prior to the service, 12 Noon to 1 PM.
