Obituary For James Henry Carter June 14, 1921 - December 2, 2013 James Henry Carter, 92, of 633 Church Street in Eden, passed away Monday morning, December 2, 2013, at Morehead Memorial Hospital in Eden. A cryptside service will be held at 4 PM on Thursday, December 5, at Overlook Mausoleum. Mr. Carter was born June 14, 1921, in Spray, NC. He was the son of the late Hardy and Ollie Cooper Carter. Mr. Carter served in the US Navy during World War II and was a retiree of DuPont. He was an avid bingo player. He is survived by his daughter, Sandra Duncan; granddaughter, Koury Gibson and husband, Jason; great-granddaughter, Brayden Gibson; brother, Leon Carter and wife, Betty; numerous nieces and nephews; and special friends Garry Gibson and Linda Arbogast. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Pauline Fargis Carter; two sisters, Vermale Belton and Thalia Watson; and brother Garland Carter. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Thursday (3 - 3:45 PM), at Fair Funeral Home, before traveling to the cemetery for the service. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Emmanuel Baptist Church, 1151 Virginia Street, Eden, NC 27288.
