Obituary For Herbert Sidney Martin April 9, 1935 - November 28, 2013 Herbert Sidney Martin, 78, passed away Thursday afternoon, November 28, 2013, at Morehead Memorial Hospital in Eden. A funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, November 30, at Fair Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Ridgeview Memorial Gardens. The family requests that all those attending the service, please, dress casually. Mr. Martin was born April 9, 1935 in Stuart, Virginia. He was the son of the late Sidney and Beulah Spencer Martin. He attended Amazing Grace Baptist Church. In his younger years Mr. Martin worked for Ivie Tire Company and was later retired from Sylvania Corporation. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He is survived by his four daughters, Kathy White and husband, Leon of Eden, Deborah Bailey and husband, John of Elba, Alabama, Jackie Lemons and husband, Todd of Eden, and Lisa Gray and husband, Dwayne of Stoneville; two sons, Steve Martin and wife, Gail of Eden and Wayne Martin and wife, Cathy of Ridgeway, Virginia; 19 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dora Overby Martin; sisters, Betty Edwards and Hazel Younts; and granddaughter, Taylor Lemons.
