Obituary For Zendale Lemons
April 1, 1931 - October 29, 2013


Zendale Prentiss Lemons, 82, of 243 East Aiken Road in Eden, went to be with the Lord, surrounded by his family on Tuesday afternoon, October 29, 2013, at Jacob's Creek Nursing Center in Madison.

His funeral service will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, November 2, at Fair Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Ridgeview Memorial Gardens. Mr. Lemons enjoyed dressing casually and the family asks that all those attending the service, please, do the same.

Mr. Lemons was born April 1, 1931 in Spray, NC. He was the son of the late Frank and Lillie Gatewood Lemons. Mr. Lemons was a US Navy veteran, having served in the Korean Conflict. He was a member of Riverview Presbyterian Church and attended Osborne Baptist Church. Mr. Lemons was a retired locksmith for Dupont in Martinsville, VA.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Ethel Alexander Lemons of the home; daughters, Sherry L. Aheron and husband, Keith of Eden and Anita Robin L. Flippen and husband, Eddie of Axton, VA; two grandsons, Sam Martin and wife, Crystal of Eden and Marshall Flippen of Axton, VA; granddaughter, Kelsi A. Chaney and husband, Josh of Stoneville; two great-grandchildren, Shane M. Martin of Eden and Laney N. Chaney of Stoneville; sister-in-law, Polly Cochran of High Point; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Arvin and Hubbie Lemons; and sisters, Vivian Cruise and Nelva DiMatteo.

The family will receive friends on Saturday from 12:30 - 2 PM, prior to the service and other times at the home of Sherry and Keith Aheron, 333 Jackson Street in Eden.
